1. Estenson has hired drivers from SST/Ruan.
There are no factual indications to this rumor. The
fact is that Darigold has assured Local 117 that they will give preference
to the current list of drivers.
2. There are Darigold drivers who have been hired
already.
THIS ISN'T TRUE. The Local has been assured that
every driver of the current CBA will be given
first shot.
3. The new company won't pay into the union pension
and will give the drivers 401k.
The fact is, no one at this point knows what the the
package outcome will be. My hope is that our pension contributions will
remain.
4. The job offer from Estenson will be provided to
42 out of the 72 drivers.
Not true. The fact is Estenson is ready to offer the
Darigold drivers the jobs first, without any reservations.

Rumor #1) Darigold is giving the business to "Brownline", a
non-union company
At this time there have been no indicators to confirm
this rumor. What we do know, is that "Brownline" is an LTI company up North.
Rumor #2) Darigold has asked for a 30 day extension to phase out the
union and bring in a non-union company
Yes, Ruan, has notified the terminal manager that
indeed, they are exiting on July 31, 2009. There has been a lot of
speculation on this. But at this time, we do not have any information as to
the reason for the extension
Rumor #3) The drivers are all being laid-off on July 31, 2009 and
the notices have been mailed.
There has been made mention of layoff notices to be mailed. The
understanding is that there are legal requirements for Ruan to send those
notices to their employees. As to a definite date of the drivers being laid
off, we don't have any specifics. If, and when, the notices are mailed and
you receive them, don't panic. In 2003, we also received layoff notices and
remained working.
Rumor # 4) There are locks being placed on the trailers in preparation
to locking the drivers out.
Yes, Darigold or Ruan, are placing locks on certain trailers. But as to why
these locks are being placed, we don't have any confirmed reason(s). All we
can do is hope that the placing of the locks on the trailers is for
logistical purposes and nothing else.
Rumor # 5) LTI is training drivers in "Eastern Washington" to take over
the route at the Rainier Plant.
If LTI is training drivers in Eastern Washington,
it's unknown as to why they are doing so. Companies, over the region, are
training drivers on a daily basis. We shouldn't put too much into it.
